Student Attendance – Distance Education

The college has revised the student attendance policy for DE students.

Student attendance is now determined solely by individual daily login to the Learning Management System (CEMONLINE) during school days or by attendance at residential programs.

What this means is that each student will need to login to the LMS to be marked off the role.  Students who do not login will receive a follow up call from a staff member and onsite supervisors will be required to submit an absent note via web form.

Onsite supervisors will not need to provide additional verification of attendance from Term 2 onwards.  You will still need to submit verification of Term 1 attendance.

Distance Education – Term 2

Distance Education students officially commence on Friday, 29 April.  Students have been allocated to courses for this term however content may not be accessible until the course has officially started as per the timetable.  For example, primary students do not have Maths on Friday.

The portal website is currently undergoing a major upgrade as a part of a new website.  We expect it to be fully operational within three weeks.

Reminder DE Holidays

All Distance Education holidays are aligned together with the day school holidays being last day of school for Term 1 is Thursday 7th April 2011 and returning Thursday 28th April 2011 for Term 2.

ATTENDANCE RECORDING FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION

Please note that attendance is now automated when the student logs into cem online, therefore it is no longer available or required to enter attendance via the website.

Likewise, absence is automated when a student doesn’t log into cem online, and an absent note is required.

Therefore if a student is working from the text books for a day, they must log into cem online to automate their presence.

Thank you.
